Manager monitoring after investment consists of:
At least one annual on-site visit, and usually more than one.
At least one monthly review, consisting of a discussion with the fund manager, which generates a formal written analysis report covering all major aspects of the fund's activity. The monthly portfolio review focuses on three objectives:
-
Reassessment of each portfolio's risk-return profile given the most recent information obtained from the underlying Hedge Funds in the portfolio.
-
Review of the portfolio's structure in relation to its goals.
-
Implementation of any decisions to increase or reduce exposure to individual Hedge Funds.
In cases where dramatic market events occur, we attempt to call every affected manager within hours in order to assess probable impact on clients' portfolios or to evaluate potential exposure to systemic risks. This will allow EIM's Portfolio Managers to determine timely actions to be undertaken in response to such events.
